ADGM Academy Hosts MENA FATF Advisory Committee
Abu Dhabi, 13 January 2026
ADGM Academy welcomed a delegation from the MENA FATF Advisory Committee and the UAE National Anti Money Laundering and Combatting Financing of Terrorism and Financing of Illegal Organizations Committee, marking an important moment as the United Arab Emirates assumes the presidency of the Middle East and North Africa Financial Action Task Force (MENAFATF) for 2026, represented by H.E. Hamid Saif AlZaabi.
The visit provided an opportunity for ADGM Academy to showcase its long standing contributions to the AML/CFT landscape, including leading research, specialised learning and development initiatives, and the measurable impact of its training programmes and professional qualifications. Over the years, ADGMA has played a pivotal role in strengthening institutional capabilities and elevating compliance standards across the UAE.
The UAE’s presidency comes at a defining moment, as MENAFATF prepares to launch the third round of mutual evaluations aligned with the FATF fifth round methodology. Under the UAE’s leadership, the organisation will prioritise enhancing regional readiness for mutual evaluations, modernising governance frameworks, deepening international cooperation, and addressing emerging financial crime risks.
uring the meeting, ADGM Academy congratulated His Excellency on this significant national milestone. Both parties also explored opportunities for strategic collaboration, outlining a shared vision to advance AML/CFT capacity building at a MENA wide level.
The engagement reaffirmed ADGM Academy’s role to supporting the UAE’s MENAFATF Presidency through education, impact and regional capacity building.
